I just got home from an amazing trip to Southern California! It was just my mom, and I on this vacation and we had a blast! On one of the first days we decided to drive to Salvation Mountain after seeing it on Pinterest. Salvation Mountain was created by Leonard Knight, who made this mountain himself with adobe clay, straw, paint, glass, and other materials he found out in the desert. To find more information about it you can check out http://www.salvationmountain.us/ Leonard’s message was “God is Love” and his mountain surely shows just that. It was about an hour and 15 minutes from where we were staying in Palm Springs. When we finally arrived at Salvation Mountain I was in awe of the beautiful colors, and the artist’s message. My mom probably took 200+ photos so unfortunately I can’t share them all, but I added a few of my favorites so you can see what the different areas look like. It was so fun climbing up to the top overlooking the desert, and Slab City. I am so glad we drove out into the middle of nowhere to see this beautiful mountain, and I highly recommend seeing it for yourself if you are ever in the area! Salvation Mountain is a place I won’t ever forget, and with the toll the sun has on the paint it won’t be around forever. 🙁 My next post will be about #thatpinkdoor so check back soon!!
I hope you are having a wonderful morning, afternoon, or evening!
